About
An etude for eight fingers with no thumbs, Snakes and Ladders was names after finishing a game with a young friend. The composer had been searching for a title and this seemed to fit perfectly, while not being too literal. The 'slithery' chromatic figure that appears first if the snake and the later ascending triads in thirds are of course the ladder.
