About
The title refers to the pentatonic "in" scale, which permeates the music. Apart from the prominent Taiko music, there is a solistic flute part, which includes a number of (optional) extended techniques.
The score is available from the composer (contact [email protected]).
Contents note
The composition deals with a number of logistical challenges:
*) Taiko group has no experience following a conductor, but is used to follow a lead Taiko drummer;
*) There was hardly any joint rehearsal time between orchestra and Taiko Group;
*) The Taiko group, which included an Oodaiko (large drum) had to be at the front of the stage, facing away from the orchestra, and leaving limited stage space for the orchestra itself.
