About
I first met Jenny McLeod at a Cambridge Summer Music School in the early 1960’s. Jenny would have been about to begin her studies at Victoria University of Wellington. She was a very fine pianist as well as showing enormous talent as a composer and with a bright effervescent personality.
At one of the concerts she burst onto the stage at the St Peters School’s gymnasium and played a Messiaen piano piece. Cantéyodjayâ touches my memory. It was a dazzling performance of a dazzling piece. I was spell bound.
Effervescent for clarinet, violin and piano is composed in her memory. It is written with much personal appreciation of her amazing prowess as a composer and honours a friendship of many years.
Salut Jenny McLeod!
