About
Lord Have Mercy was composed specially for Palliser Viols. I wanted to capture something of the character and history of the viol family whilst bringing a modern twist to the harmonies and rhythms. As a child I would visit the Greek Orthodox church where I hear wonderful cadential music. Some of this has entered the piece.
