About
In the Heiligenstadt Testament, Beethoven tells his brothers of the anxiety he felt at his increasing deafness, and the subsequent public and private pressure on his creativity. Disquiet explores this sense of discomfort, often expressed sotto voce, with occasional outbursts. The work derives its material from Beethoven’s Op.70 No.2 Piano Trio (which was also composed at Heiligenstadt).
