About
This poem, by NZ poet Margaret Mahy, tells of someone watching the ocean. It is likened to a horse which '...stamps and whinnies and tosses its mane.' However this is a dangerous beast, one that shouldn't be trusted or loved. The poet also wonder what the ocean thinks of those who observe it.
