This piece was composed for and performed by the Bridge Singers of Felton and Thirston in Northumberland, England, for their recital Magical Glass which celebrated the windows in their local church St. Michael's. The quiet window in question is one of a pair which do not have stained glass, and which is in need of repair. The window is overshadowed in many ways by its more colourful window neighbours, and indeed is usually hidden behind other furniture and church paraphernalia. This song brings the window to the fore again and celebrates its characteristics and the history and events it has witnessed over the years. -CC
