A Quick Game of Cards

This set of short pieces was the second written at the request (suggestion?) of my friend Deirdre McOnie for her to play with musical friends. In this case one of the city's finest orchestral cellists, and a fellow bridge player. While the cello part could be somewhat challenging, the piano part had to require a more modest level of ability.

I took the shared interest of bridge as a starting point, and each of the pieces suggests a particular aspect of a typical game - although the pieces could really apply to many other card games. The music is light-hearted and intended to be fun to play and listen to.
