About

This piece was inspired by and written for my three small boys. They spiral around like fireworks out of control, with seemingly endless energy and limitless capacity for delight in discovering new things. For me, their young lives symbolise the excitement of the new millennium, as with their feet in the old century they stretch out their arms into the future.

Spirals was a fiinalist in the NZSO/Concert FM Music 2000 Prize (now the Lilburn Prize).
