About
One of the most beautiful and intriguing polyphonic traditions is that of Lithuanian folk music, which exploits the interval of a second. By allowing the voices to leap-frog over each other a piquant sonority is achieved without forcing the singers to move in parallel motion. I’ve used this principle in my little Nowell setting for Baroque Voices.
