About

This song, in ballad form, tells the story of the Reverend Norman McLeod, and his leadership of crofters from Scotland, to Nova Scotia, and finally to Waipu Cove in Northland.

The Waipu community have appreciated this song, including contemporary performances, and it was incorporated into a Radio New Zealand programme 'From New Scotland to New Zealand' in November 1991, when it was performed by the Kilmarnock Singers.

Arranged by Dorothea Franchi.
