In World Rhythms, New Zealand-born composer Annea Lockwood sources natural sounds of the earth, including volcanoes, earthquakes and geysers. The work originated as a ten-channel live improvisation, with the volcanoes in stereo and each of the other sounds on a separate loudspeaker while a tam-tam player and the person mixing are placed in the centre of the performance area. This album also includes the work I Come Out of Your Sleep by composer Ruth Anderson.
