About

Since its emergence in 2000, the Arts Foundation has awarded 75 artists with Icon, Laureate or New Generation Awards. Icons are senior artists with substantial achievements, Laureates are artists whose careers are in full flight and New Generation recipients are artists in the early stages of their careers. All recipients have demonstrated the highest standards of excellence in their chosen art form and can be practicing any discipline. Whanau is for educational purposes - providing a glimpse of the artists that make up the Foundation's family in its three major Awards to November 2008. A short video with an example of the artist's work and biographical detail feature on each disc. Source: liner notes.
