This issue focuses on New Zealand music and includes a 10-page article written by the magazine's Art Editor Andrew Caldwell. A double CD Sound Barrier including 28 works by established composers performed by leading musicians accompanied the magazine giving a comprehensive overview of 'contemporary classical' New Zealand music in the last half century.

The project was a collaboration between SOUNZ and New Zealand Geographic and the Sound Barrier CD is distributed as part of the Centre's "SOUNZfine":http://sounz.org.nz/content/SOUNZfine project.
