About
Wild Opera was a project which aimed to encourage the development of New Zealand opera. It was envisaged that the title would enable the widest interpretation of the idea of opera and the utmost creativity. The aim of the showcase was not only to provide a vehicle for composers and librettists to present their ideas directly to industry representatives, but also to create an opportunity for discussions to occur between festivals, sponsors, promoters and companies to aid in the development of professional productions of New Zealand opera.
