The Silver Fern March was composed in 2013 as a follow up to the success of Gary Daverne's previous Auckland March.

The Silver Fern March was originally scored for brass and military bands but had its premier with a massed accordion orchestra, at the 2014 Australian International Accordion Championships in Sydney, by the Australian Accordion Teachers Association 20th Anniversary Celebration Orchestra of about 50 players conducted by Lionel Reekie.

Sounds of the South is a selection of popular songs from Texas and the Southern states of the USA.

Auckland March was commissioned for the Coupe Mondiale, International Accordion championships held in Auckland in 2009 and premiered by the World Accordion Orchestra - 147 accordionists representing 14 countries.

Bob The Bandsman March, composed in 2017 is dedicated to any bandsman named Bob!

Gavin Marriott March is named for Gavin, of Christchurch, who started and ended his career as a music promoter. In the 1980s he served in the London Ambulance Service where he crossed paths with some of their military bands. This march reflects his experiences with those bands.
