Gunter Herbig was born in Brazil, grew up in Portugal and was educated in Germany. For the past 18 years, he has been based in New Zealand, establishing himself as one of our leading guitarists, not afraid to challenge and stimulate his audiences.
His concert includes the Five Preludes of Villa-Lobos along with David Farquhar's Prospero Dreaming, his own transcription of Four Canzonas by Douglas Lilburn and a new work by John Elmsly: all pieces that are to be released shortly on his new CDs.
