The Stations of the Cross

Exhibition or installation

The final hours in the life of Jesus have inspired the creation of some of history's most enduring art. For this unique exhibition over Easter, fifteen contemporary New Zealand artists and fifteen New Zealand composers have been invited to create a new, original work in response to one of the Stations of the Cross.

Those involved hold a range of religious beliefs and have been asked to respond from whichever point of view, and in whatever form, they choose. The result will be an unconventional and non-denominational series of works and compositions. Performances of the compositions written to reflect each Station of the Cross will be given on 13th, 19th, 21st and 23rd March by top student performers from the School of Music.
