In Swedish, the term “klara” means to clarify. Playing music of crystalline radiance, The Klara Kollektiv is an exciting new ensemble. Established in 2016 as an extension of the Darlecarlia Clarinet Quintet, the Kollektiv is dedicated to shining a light on new repertoire as well as sharing familiar favourites.
Bringing Aotearoa and Scandinavia just a little closer together, these three Sweden-based musicians return home to perform a programme of atmospheric New Zealand and European wonders.
The programme begins with the premiere of a new work by New Zealand composer Anthonie Ritchie, while the colourful, gypsy rhapsodies of Khachaturian’s youthful Trio perfectly complement the mesmerizing, poetic Hungarian dances of Bartók’s Contrasts.
