The KBB Music Festival, in association with The Edge® Public Programmes, showcases secondary school orchestras, concert bands and jazz bands in Auckland.
Groups perform over the four days of the festival and prizes are awarded in each section, including the Best Performance of New Zealand Work. Selected groups are then invited to return to perform in the Gala Concert on Sunday 29th August.
The festival celebrates 27 years in 2010, having started out as the Auckland Secondary Schools Band and Orchestra Festival. The Festival began with a few schools combining for performances and has since grown in both size and stature. In 2009 there were 120 groups represented from more than 40 schools from the greater Auckland region.

Sessions are free for audiences. They run between 10am and 8pm each day (finishing at 4pm on Friday 27th)
