Biography
Born in Glouscester, U.K., Keith Statham studied Music at Cambridge University and worked in the recording industry for Decca and Phillips before becoming General Manager of the Northern Sinfonia Orchestra from 1966-74. He also spent five years as freelance composer/arranger before becoming Director of the Hong Kong Arts Festival from 1980-87.
In 1987 Keith established a Promotions/Corporate Communications Company which became the largest independent company of its kind in Hong Kong. The company was bought out in 2000 when he and his family took up residency in New Zealand, and he started to compose again, something he hadn’t done for 20 years.
Keith Statham died in May 2012, in Auckland.
